Internet Filmakers (definitely) Unite!

Here’s some good news: my first internet filmmaking collaboration that is completed is finally released on the internet after months of production and post, and I’m happy to say I’m in the credits.  It’s a great short film, made by people all over the world, and I had a great time working on it.  Ryan, the film’s director, had this to say about it:

It was a great collaborative film, with the script coming from the UK,
music coming from the west coast of America and Canada, color
correction from the east coast of America, and stabilizing coming from
mid-America. Not to mention filming and acting with students from 2
rival schools working together on it.”

Sounds like you’ve put the new technologies out there to good use. If more artists are enabled to collaborate on projects like this, the internet will be good for something other than porn and illegally downloading music and movies. Good luck with these world-spanning ventures, accounts like this one are an inspiration to the rest of us…

Good to hear from you. I live on the Canadian prairies–Saskatchewan, in fact. You’ll love Vancouver, it’s a terrific city, looks of bookstores and artsy-fartsy stuff. I’ve posted some of my writings on my blog (check under “Stories”) and my books should be available at amazon.com or abebooks.com. There might also be a copy or two at the Vancouver Public Library (should be one of your first stops, to secure that priceless library card).

I have a soft spot for films and must post some reviews some time–I wrote about “300″ (HATED it) and “Monsieur Hulot” in the “Spleen” section but I should cover more of my cinema favorites (“Apocalypse Now”, “Brazil”, “Withnail & I”, film noir classics. etc). Keep up the good work…

    Citizen Producer Poster

A poster I did for a non-commercial project that won the MovieMagic Budgeting/Scheduling competition recently. Cool project, listened to lots of rockabilly while working on it :P.
