site for a local Aussie breeder
I’m very happy with this as far as a for-profit work. So far my personal stuff has been where I’ve pushed myself and my paid work had been kept to what I know I can accomplish. Part of that is probably keeping it within a relative budget, but still, I’m not learning, and I end up hating those jobs. But this one I approached with that in mind and made sure to keep it simple and straightforward, usable by essentially anybody with the password, but still making it look good.
It’s built for WordPress, just as a basic theme. Each post doesn’t have its own link, when you click on a category on the left, it brings you to the list of all posts in that category, without any permalinks. I’ve used that a couple of times to showcase lists of things that don’t really need their own page. For this site especially it worked because the dogs have very little information besides their main image, competition stats and small image galleries. And all of that fits just fine on a page of all of those posts. I believe pagination is activated, but she’s gonna breed a lot of dogs before that even becomes an issue.
The client was super complimentary throughout the entire process, and has thanked me numerous times in the near-6-months since I completed the job. It’s a good feeling
